Bruno UbialiMy background is in forestry, conservation and rural development and my research interests are centered on human-environment interactions and how these are influenced by questions related to complexity, variability and change. I am particularly interested in how environmental and social factors affect land use in South America.
For my masters’ research, I have analyzed differences in livelihood strategies between forest-extractivist rubber tappers considering different forms of access to forest resources in three communities of the Cazumbá-Iracema extractive reserve, Acre state, Brazilian Amazon. Now I am starting a PhD (Fall 2019) in Integrative Conservation and Anthropology and I will explore – using elements of environmental anthropology, geospatial analysis and ecological assessment - how different factors influence agricultural production in the Amazon estuary-delta considering the challenges set by climate change. |
